Set the brush to a white color at 100% with feather and paint to get a lighter part on the yellow. You can harden and soften the shadow as you like.įor smaller shapes, use the Granular Brush. Pro tip: Everything in black needs to be multiplied. Press Option, Drag and then Duplicate it. Put it on 21.9 and turn down the opacity to 40%. Select Blur and then click on Gaussian Blur. Choose Filter and then convert it to smart filters. Go underneath the room light layer and fill it with black. This turns off the frame layer and makes it white. Select Option and Delete to fill the selection with white. Make a layer below the frame layer and call it Rim Light. Pro tip: Add an extra hotspot light layer by simply coloring the brush white and adding the color on the top left edge.Ĭlick Command and then select the frame layer. Increase the size completely, pick a black color and then add shadows in the edges. To increase the shadow, take the Feather Brush and set it at 100%. If the lighting is too intense, change the opacity of the light in accordance with what best fits the composition. Select the Gradient Tool and set it to white and transparent. Create a layer on top and command-click the frame layer. If you click on mask, it will only apply the texture to that particular shape.Įstablish a light source in the top left corner of the composition. This will form a trail around that shape. Pro tip: If you click Command on any shape and select, it will select every pixel on that layer. This will help put the texture on the composition. PSD and open in it Photoshop, you’ll notice that the layers of the file also get exported similar to those in Illustrator. Pro tip: Make sure you’re in RGB as it has a wider color gamut than CMYK. This helps texture each shape layer by layer. You can initially begin with a sketch and then dive right into drawing an illustration.
